feast-of-trumpets-yom-teruahThis is always an important holy day, the Feast of Trumpets, or Yom Teruah, the Jewish New Year, but this one coming up next week, September 25 and 26 will be unprecedented in history. It happens as we approach the second in the Blood Moon tetrad of 2014-15 (October 8 Feast of Tabernacles – Sukkot) (, and it heralds a Sabbatical year, which happens every 7 years and is very significant according to the LORD. AND 2014 is a Year of Jubilee, the end year of a series of seven Sabbatical years, a time when, according to Leviticus 25, slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven and the mercies of God would be particularly manifest.

As mentioned previously in this blog, Pastor John Hagee in his book “FOUR BLOOD MOONS – Something Is About To Change”, points out that major world changes have corresponded with the ‘blood moons’ of 1493-1494, 1949-1950, and 1967-1968. From the opening of the New World to the emergence of a Jewish state to major wars in the Middle East, Hagee writes that these events “centered on significant events related to Israel and the Jewish people” and that the coming blood moons of 2014-2015 could mark another major change for Israel and the world. In fact, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that major world changes are happening RIGHT NOW. Never before has there been so much turmoil, lawlessness, fearful events, wars, terrorism, natural disasters, plagues, and great amounts of SIN (except in the days of Noah!).

annegrahamlotzMany well respected Christian leaders believe that the Rapture of the Church is imminent. One of these is Anne Graham Lotz, Billy Graham’s daughter. Here is an excerpt from her blog, posted this week:

“The Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 refers to a mystery when the trumpet sounds.  He gives a little more detail in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, but once again refers to the “trumpet call of God” that announces the return of Jesus Christ for those who have placed their faith in Him. Because of the reference to the “trumpet,”many believe when Jesus returns for those who belong to Hm, He will do so on the Feast of Trumpets.  It seems reasonable to assume that if He was crucified on the Feast of Passover, buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, raised on the Feast of the Firstfruits, that the pattern would continue, and He would return on the Feast of Trumpets.  Interestingly, the Feast of Trumpets is also called the “Hidden Day,” because no one knows the exact day or hour of Rosh Hashanah. The only certainty is that it is one of the designated days. This year those days are September 24, 25 and 26.

Whether or not Jesus returns on this year’s Feast of Trumpets, we do know without doubt that there is coming a day when all people in the world who have put their trust in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord are going to be suddenly removed.  Caught up in the air to be with Jesus forever. While His followers will be experiencing the joy of His visible presence, those left behind are going to be plunged into worldwide grief and fear, chaos and confusion.”

joelrosenbergAnother well known and respected Bible teacher, Joel Rosenberg,, says this: “The Bible says, ‘If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ (2 Chronicles 7:14) This was specifically a promise given to the nation of Israel in the Old Testament. But it is a principle we can apply today. We could plead with God for forgiveness, and He could grant it. He could give us a sweeping series of revivals that could culminate in a Third Great Awakening, with hundreds of millions of Americans — beginning with the Church — repenting of our sins, turning to Christ, praying, fasting, reading God’s Word and seeking to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

But without a revival, the U.S. is not only collapsing; it is imploding, a threat that is “far beyond what the next President or Congress can solve alone”. Rosenberg goes on to ask what happens if America turns against Israel? In Genesis 12:3, the Lord says, “I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” According to the rest of the book of Genesis, it is clear that this promise from God is passed down from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob (later named Israel) and then to Jacob’s descendants, Israel and the Jewish people. Thus, the Lord is making clear that those who bless Israel and the Jewish people He will bless, and those who curse them He will curse. If America turns against or abandons Israel and the Jews after being their closest friend and ally for so many decades, God warns He will bring judgment upon us.

“Clearly, people all over the world, including in America, need to:
– pray for peace in Jerusalem, Israel and the broader Middle East
– pray for Jews and Arabs in the epicenter (the Middle East)
– love Jews and Arabs in the epicenter
– seek the good of Jews and Arabs in the epicenter”

“Given the high stakes, one of the things we need to do is teach people about God’s love and plan and purpose for Israel and the Jewish people, and why this matters to America. We need to help more people — including our leaders and future leaders — understand why America’s fate is inextricably linked with how we treat Israel and the Jewish people, as well as her neighbors.”

If the Lord does not catch up the Church this Feast of Trumpets, we still have time to pray for revival, preach the salvation of Christ to unbelievers and bless the root of our faith, Israel and the Jewish people.
