Seeing Locks, Xraying Pills, Handy Apps!

As Israel continues to fulfill its prophecy of being a blessing to all the nations of the earth, here are three recent innovations that we will all benefit from:

  1. Check-Cap in bowel

Nobody enjoys a colonoscopy, right? Thanks to Israel’s Check-Cap, a tiny capsule can travel through the intestines, snapping 360 degree Xray images and continuously transmit information to a wrist worn data receiver reporting on any polyps, the precursors to colon cancer. You just swallow the tiny pill, no hospital, no pain. This is a great improvement over the currently used camera system developed in Israel 10 years ago, Pill Cam. Xrays, more precise than cameras, require no bowel preparation (the worst part of colonoscopies) and the minimal radiation of the Check-Cap is far less than that of a CT scan or mammogram. 2. The Watch Lock is a smart lock that sends an alert if a lock is tampered with, opened by the wrong person or moved. Joining a GPS system with a chip, this device allows people to monitor their possessions, especially mobile ones or ones not close by, by cell phone, smart phone or computer. Starcom and Mul-T-Lock have joined forces to invent this ‘lock that can talk’. For more info check http://www.starcomsystems.com.

3. Free App from ZappixFinally – help with customer service calls! Does it drive you crazy whenever you call a company with an automated answering system that makes you keep pressing numbers to weave your way through the maze of departments until you get the one you want, or if you know it doesn’t exist and you just want to talk to a REAL PERSON? The new high tech Israeli company Zappix offers a straightforward solution that could change the way we interact with call centers, without elevator music, annoying call robots or hard to understand foreign accents. With their newest app you get a visual map of the routing system. Instead of hearing ‘press 1 to speak to a sales agent’, you can press numbers from a handy list of options and the call is routed accordingly. Soon this app will be a free offering in the U.S. for Android, iPhone and Blackberry. You will be able to store the routing maps of all the companies you call frequently and it ‘remembers’ the pathways and choices you have used before, from ordering a pizza to checking flight times, to checking bank balances. I will definitely download this app when it becomes available in English! Thank you Jewish scientists in Israel for continuing to bless us all, as God has promised!

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3
