I’m Going, Are You??

A Night To Honor Israel – March 11, 2012 in Bloomfield, CT

Christians United for Israel (CUFI) has hundreds of Nights to Honor Israel in cities across America. A Night to Honor Israel is an expression of Christian solidarity with the State of Israel and the Jewish people. The Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak out for Zion’s sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people (Genesis 12:3). These and many other Bible verses have one overriding message – as Christians we have a Biblical obligation to defend Israel and the Jewish people in their time of need. Israel’s time of need is now. The March 11 event will take place at First Cathedral Church, 111 Blue  Hills Ave., Bloomfield, CT. Senator Joe Lieberman will speak as well as Pastor John Hagee, and J.J. Hairston will lead in worship.

There is a new Hitler in the Middle East –President Ahmadinejad of Iran — who has threatened to wipe out Israel and America and is rapidly acquiring the nuclear technology to make good on his threat. If we learned anything from the Holocaust, it is that when a madman threatens genocide we must take him seriously. During the Holocaust, too many Christians were silent, and we were left to mourn the slaughter of 6 million Jews. Today, Bible-believing Christians must speak up and stand up for Israel. We must act to do whatever we can to protect Israel’s 6 million Jews from the second Holocaust. We must get it right this time. Our faith demands it. The times require it. Silence is not an option. We will be silent no longer. We pray that you will attend a Night to Honor Israel to stand up and speak up for the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

In February, 2006, Pastor John Hagee, Founder and National Chairman of Christians United for Israel, decided the time had come to create a national grassroots movement focused on the support of Israel. He called upon Christian leaders from across America to join him in launching this new initiative. Over 400 Christian leaders each representing a denomination, mega-church, media ministry, publishing company, or Christian university answered the call and Christians United for Israel was born. Every month CUFI holds more than 40 pro-Israel events across the country. Pastor Hagee, founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, has built a ministry on straightforward Bible teaching and preaching, and unwavering support for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

CUFI is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States with over 900,000 members and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. “A Night to Honor Israel” is a non-conversionary tribute to the nation of Israel and the Jewish people of the world. Its purpose is to promote esteem and understanding between Christians and Jews and to emphasize that the beliefs we hold in common are far greater than the differences we have allowed to separate us. Pastor Hagee has been presented the ZOA Israel Award, the ZOA Service Award and the Humanitarian of the Year Award by B’Nai B’Rith Council in recognition of his unwavering support of Israel. Pastor Hagee’s ministry has given millions of dollars to bring the Jewish exiles of the world home to Israel. The ministry has provided comfort and consolation to the Jewish people through the building of orphanage facilities, absorption centers and hospitals.

CUFI’s Israel Pledge

We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
