Without Israel We Wouldn’t Have. . .

As some countries consider boycotting products from Israel, let them consider what they may be missing. A staggering number of the products, technology, medical innovations, humanitarian aid, agricultural expertise, advances in most categories, come from the superior minds found in Israeli Jews. And this is in spite of the genocide that has exterminated so many millions of them. In Genesis chapter 12 we read:

1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Let’s look at some of the ways Israel has blessed the world.

–          Israeli engineers developed the first cell phone at Motorola’s lab in Haifa, its largest research center in the world!

–          Israeli engineers and agronomists developed a revolutionary drip irrigation system which significantly minimizes the amount of water used for crops. This technology is exported and used worldwide.

–          Israel holds the largest concentration of high tech industries in the world per capita, and as a region, second only to CA Silicon Valley.

–          Israel has more museums per capital than any other country.

–          Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees.

–          Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, radiation-free, diagnostic tools for breast cancer.

–          Most of the Windows operating systems were developed by Microsoft’s Israel labs.

–          American industry giants such as Ford, GM, Boeing, GE Aircraft Engines, Lockheed Martin, all manage their manufacturing processes using software from the Israeli company Tecnomatix.

–          Thanks to voice over IP and DCME technologies, invented in Israel, the price of phone calls, especially long distance and overseas, dropped significantly over the past 15 years.

–          Checkpoint, an Israeli company, pioneered Internet and network security technology such as the Firewall, and is considered the world leader in the field. Since 1993 the company has installed its products at more than 250,000 sites, including 90% of the Fortune 500 companies.

–          When an earthquake struck India in Jan. 2001, Israel sent an entire field hospital to treat injured civilians. When the earthquake hit Haiti just last year, Israel was the first to have an entire field hospital set up there. These are only 2 examples of Israel’s outstanding humanitarian aid.

–          Iraqi children who suffered severe burns in the war were treated at the renowned Burn Center of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

–          Israel doctors formed Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) to perform corrective heart surgery on children in developing countries, including all Arab countries. They not only perform the operations but also train local doctors and, together with MASHAV, donate equipment. Another similar Israeli team is Shevet Achim.

–          When the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya was bombed in 1998, Israeli rescue teams were on the scene within a day and saved victims from the rubble.

–          Israeli engineers developed the high speed Centrino processor which doubles battery life on laptops, as well as paper-thin, super-lightweight batteries for laptops and cell phones, engineered at the Israeli company Electric Fuel.

–          ICQ – the technology for AOL Instant Messenger was developed in 1996 by the Mirabilis company, founded by 4 young Israelis.

–          The first PC anti-virus was developed by the same company that developed the Melissa anti-virus program.

–          ZIP compression, commonly used today, was developed by two Israeli professors in the Technion.

–          The Israeli companies Amdocs, Comverse and Nice Systems all pioneered Voicemail, SMS and many other telephone and cell phone services.

–          Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship in the world, and the highest rate in the world among women and among people over age 55.

–          More Israeli companies are traded on Wall Street than any other country except the U.S. and Canada.

–          An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. Every year in U.S. hospitals, 7,000 patients die from treatment mistakes.

–          Israel’s Given Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, the camera helps doctors diagnose cancer and digestive disorders.

–          An Israeli biologist developed an all-natural mosquito and fly control that saved millions from death and blindness in China and Africa.

–          An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large scale solar power plant, fully functional in southern CA’s Mojave desert.

–          Mercury Interactive, an Israeli company that leads the world of software quality assurance tools, was named ‘one of the hottest software firms in the world’ by Forbes Magazine on Oct. 2003. Mercury’s 7,500 customers include Cisco Systems, GE Medical, Dow Chemical and Charles Schwab.

And the list goes on. So, why does so much of the world continue to hate Jews and wish to remove Israel from statehood? It has to be a spiritual force, but it is part of God’s plan. He has promised that only when the moon and stars leave their appointed courses will he forsake His Beloved Israel!
