This blog is created to share my knowledge and beliefs concerning God’s plan for Israel and the Jewish people, and to present the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, which has sadly been lost to most of Christendom. It is based on the Jewish Holy Scriptures (Old Testament) and the Christian New Testament, as well as current day opinions, web posts, testimonies. I will share some of my oil paintings on this blog, as well as a travelogue of my 2 trips to the Holy Land. I am a gentile with the heart of a Jew and I believe that I am grafted into God’s chosen people, Israel, as per Romans chapter 11. I am one of a growing movement among evangelicals who love and want to bless Israel as prophecy is fulfilled in my lifetime!
“Israel is central to God’s plan for mankind. Pick up your Bible and leaf through the pages. It won’t be long before you see Israel. God chose to reveal Himself to the world through the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. We were blessed through them to receive the Word of God; our Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus); and salvation. While some Christians have the idea that God is finished with Israel and is now only embracing the Church, that is not God’s idea.
God’s promises to Israel are being literally fulfilled today. Over 100 years ago, God began bringing the Jewish people back to their ancient homeland (making aliyah). On May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation again after nearly 2,000 years of dispersion (diaspora). In the past 15 years, over one million Jewish immigrants have come home to Israel in fulfillment of God’s Word. At Bridges for Peace, we have helped many of them. We assist them in their immigration process through Project Rescue, our Adoption Program, and our food programs. As we watch God at work, we eagerly await the fruition of ALL His promises. He said that the nations will know that He is God as they see Him at work in Israel. We are living in those days.
I am excited to be part of God’s great plans for Israel and the people of God worldwide. I believe the prophets, including Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, would have loved to be in our shoes today, as active participants in God’s end-time drama. God used them to record His promises, and God is using us to participate in their fulfillment. What an honor and a privilege!”
And who is Rebecca Brimmer? Read this letter published this month (November 2010) by the Minister for Social Affairs and Services in Israel, commending the work of Bridges for Peace. What a testimony of the good work Bridges does.
To: Rebecca Brimmer
International President and CEO
Bridges for Peace
It was a great pleasure to meet with you recently and to become familiar of Bridges for Peace. It was very encouraging to hear of the work that you, as a Christian organization, have been doing in the land of Israel for over 30 years. I would like to express my appreciation for your commitment to helping Israel alleviate the distress of poverty.
Your assistance centers in Jerusalem and Karmiel, which distribute tons of food every month, are helping to ensure the effective absorption of many immigrants as well as improving the quality of life for thousands of Israelis every month.
I was particularly impressed with your exceptional bi-monthly publication, The Dispatch from Jerusalem, an educational resource designed to tell Israel’s story throughout the world. I understand that you have built a network of thousands of Christians around the globe who are advocates for Israel and who work to fight anti-Semitism on every level in the international arena.
I would like to recommend Bridges for Peace as an organization whose programs make a significant contribution to the nation of Israel, both through humanitarian aid projects here in Israel and hasabara efforts worldwide. Best wishes for the continuation of your efforts for many years to come.
